Directions. Grape Grove Cemetery is located on Grape Grove Road. From Jamestown Ohio follow US 72 N to South Charleston Road (there is a Y in the road SR 72 goes left South Charleston Road to the right). Follow S. Charleston Rd approximately 6 miles. Grape Grove Road turns to the right. The cemetery is about 1 mile on the left.
This survey was completed with permission of the Ross Township Trustees by Brenda Massie Tolle in October 2006. Information may be used for personal research.
Grape Grove is an older cemetery still in operation today. The first burial appears to be 1834 (Mildred Little). I don't know the history of the cemetery but chose to survey it because there are 5 generations on my maternal family buried there.
The cemetery is divided into 8 sections. According to the caretaker they are:
Old Section - to the back of the cemetery behind sections 1 and 2
Section 1 (west side of cemetery)
Section 2
Section 3
Section 4
Section 5
Section 6
Section 7 (east side of cemetery
All sections are separated by driveways. The older sections are 4 graves wide. When I surveyed I did two rows deep from the drive (from front to back and then back to front).
